A huge percentage of students studying Art and Design suffer from Dyslexia and other hidden disabilities which manifest themselves in many different ways, it was my job to alter the teaching and my expectation, not judge them based on the failure of their previous schools system to teach math.
Wed, 12 Oct 2016 20:59:19 +0000 swood comment 3805 at https://process.arts.ac.uk NO I was missing someting not https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/how-learn-your-times-tables-top-tips-and-tricks#comment-3804
NO I was missing someting not you, Ive ammeded the pattern now, hope this makes more sense. However I am very confused over the 3 times table as it say's use the 2 times table then add 3 but this does not work at all. For example 8x3=24, 8x2=16+3=19 not 24. Am I missing something?
Fri, 01 Jul 2016 16:46:08 +0000 Anonymous comment 3785 at https://process.arts.ac.uk thank you sooo much https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/how-learn-your-times-tables-top-tips-and-tricks#comment-3774
thank you sooo much
Wed, 20 Apr 2016 09:42:08 +0000 Anonymous comment 3774 at https://process.arts.ac.uk thank you sooooooo much :) https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/how-learn-your-times-tables-top-tips-and-tricks#comment-3773
thank you sooooooo much :)
Wed, 20 Apr 2016 09:33:49 +0000 Anonymous comment 3773 at https://process.arts.ac.uk I could try but as I say I'm https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/how-learn-your-times-tables-top-tips-and-tricks#comment-3772
I could try but as I say I'm no Math Teacher.

but if you think about it the 'teens' are just the 10 times table added to one of those that you have just learned. "even sum 6 X 6 = 36" Not sure about the apostrophes separating the numbers and a 's' - 12's, 8's. What works for one doesn't work for another as my own children will testify. My Son loves to use the partitioning method for everything, he wants to learn one system and apply it. My dusghter likes the visual method as she gets a sore head trying to do the mental math of partitioning.

If you let me know what your struggling with I'll try to get some better visuals together. What have you tried, what's working for you and what do you not like.

All the best

Steve
Thu, 10 Oct 2013 19:56:13 +0000 swood comment 3531 at https://process.arts.ac.uk Have you seen https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/how-learn-your-times-tables-top-tips-and-tricks#comment-3528
Have you seen the http://www.khanacademy.org they are great, worth watch the whole video and the all the other videos good too, also worth reading the comments.
