I've always had problems with the old content upload but without a development budget for PA was hard to change, Grzesiek's had to do a lot of detective work to strip out the old and bring in the new with minimum disruption, a genius! Will make some tutorials once we have made a few changes and road tested a bit more.

Cheers
Fri, 09 Mar 2012 12:39:45 +0000 cfollows comment 1428 at https://process.arts.ac.uk Listing images https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/new-content-type#comment-1426
I prefer the new way of adding content. I must admit that I had given up a few times in the past because it shouldn't be hard work to add content and I thought that the previous version was.

I like the way it is possible to 'bank' images from the outset and then 'insert' them into posts as you go without creating a slide show. The more 'bloggy' looking content enables readers to view images that refer to the text as they scroll down. It would be good to add a 'caption' the uploaded images if possible. I know that on scroll over the image title appears, but if refering to an images as say; fig.1 it would be good to have that imag ecaptioned. Obvioulsy it's possible to type the caption in, but it can get messy seperating captions from content in the published doc.

If you want the text under the image, rather than beside it as tends to happen by default, you'll need to hit the return button a few times. This leaves massives gaps in the editor, but none in the published doc. I suppose it's an HTML thing! I'm going to try centering my images next to see if it will force the text under the image without needing to add the returns.

My top tip is the <br> tag in the HTML editor or 'switch to plain text editor' this enables you to make a title without there being a new paragraph gap after it. It will take some searcing for but it's a nice touch.BTW you dont need to add a </br> if this makes sense.

I'm pretty sure that Chris will make some tutorials, but this is fairly instinctive interface so give it a go!

Steve
Fri, 09 Mar 2012 11:16:36 +0000 swood comment 1426 at https://process.arts.ac.uk
