Now I have added a contact form on each user's profile page.
This is enabled by default for NEW users. Existing users will have to edit their profiles to enable this option. The contact tab is not visible in your own profile, only in other people's.

By the way, email alerts are only sent out when the cron job runs. I have asked IS to set one up to run once a day. This needs to be set up anyway, because it also updates search values, etc.

I've added an option to subscribe to a page, or to subscribe to a tag. It's also possible to subscribe to a discipline (e.g. Ceramics & glass) so that you get an email every time someone posts in that category. I thought that might be a bit over the top though?
See what you think. Make sure to log in as a non-admin user.

No option to send email to other users as yet. I'll look into that.
