Process Arts Developement https://process.arts.ac.uk/taxonomy/term/1653/0 en NEW process.arts - upgrade under development https://process.arts.ac.uk/content/new-processarts-upgrade-under-development-0 <p>Here's a quick peek at the direction the new layout (rough designs) of process.arts is taking, the ALTO project is funding a timely and much needed upgrade of process.arts which is currently underway, this will be a total overall of the site, including the design, layout and functionality. The image shows a rough layout sketch from photoshop to help us visualise where were going, we will work on colours and featured boxs/specifics later. All Suggestions welcome, please add your comments here, thank you. Development list 27/11/2011 Reduce banner make editable for admin users, add buttons to go back and forward to see banners Add new footer info text (copy from ALTO site) Change link colours to dark maroon 990000 (Michele) Chage title colour (dark grey) (Michele) Add advanced serch option Remove tutorial content type Image slideshow Add links to social media site and add image icons for users to surface content Add menu bar above or below banner: (Grzesiek can you please compare this against the list you made at our last meeting?) Remove tutorial content type (replace with bookmark lists) Space between thumbnails and text Attachments bleed on to right of page Open in new window function on links not working Comments links do not take user to comments Allow two or more users to edit a post (wiki like) Breadcrumbs Open tagging Design 6 - current design for Index landing page Design 5 - Inside page second level Design 4 Here's another front page design. There's no need to have all the top level resources in any other place than the front page I think, once clicked through to the resource of your choice this section of the site is dedicated to that resource area, this is where the resource groups are listed. Example of possible resource groups and site map proposal see .doc attached. (image 2) Some new features : IMPROVED NAVIGATION: The planned new design is based on providing improved ways for users to find relevant content quickly whilst also encouraging users to add and create content that doesn't exist. A first version of this can be found in the attached image file called PROCESS-ARTS-Interface_V1.bmp GROUPS: introduction of groups, users can create a resource area of there own to develop and publish content alone or as a group (Wiki style option for ‘collaborative’ post editing options) When we first started developing process.arts a couple of years ago we tried find and encourage specialist from each subject to champion each area but we had little response. There seems to be more interest and demand for this now so we can try again to introduce group/individually managed and focused resource groups co-developing and sharing specialist areas and processes e.g a Final Cut pro group a casting group a textiles group a group associated to a course. We could have administrators who helps run specific groups and users can suggest groups or request to start and manage a group of their own. We can try and attempt to predict as many of these specialist Top level tags/categories as possible but it may be possible to include a field where users can suggest/request a process type to start or request? BLOG: Feedback to date suggests process.arts is all a bit mashed up together and lacks structure. I would like to reduce the amount of general comment interaction on tutorial resource post and have a separate blog area for all the discussions and non- tutorial and process content, these can be linked and associated to resource content.
