03 - Plaster cube

Cast plaster

The origami cube, object number 49, is often referred to as a “water bomb” describing its ability to hold water, (and to be thrown.)

By pouring plaster into the natural opening in the top, the internal shapes and characteristics are revealed. As the plaster cures, its mass pulls at the paper sides and produces imagery of arrested collapse and distortion.
