Deborah Nadoolman Landis presents "Hollywood Sketchbook"

Costume designer and Hollywood Costume exhibition curator Deborah Nadoolman Landis returned to London College of Fashion on the 14th November 2012 with a presentation titled The Art of Hollywood Costume. During her years of practice and research, Professor Landis has discovered a wealth of never-before-seen original sketches from collectors, archivists, illustrators and designers. This presentation offered an insight into this research and an overview of the art of Hollywood costume designers, discussing costume, illustration and authorship.

Professor Deborah Nadoolman Landis is the founding director of David C. Copley Centre for Costume Design at the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television. She is Academy Award nominated costume designer for Coming to America (1988), and Michael Jackson's Thriller. She is the author of 50 Designers/50 Costumes: Concept to Character (2004), Screencraft / Costume Design (2012 and 2003), Dressed: A Century of Hollywood Costume Design (2007) and Hollywood Costume (2012).
