CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT /
BUILD ON AND VALUE the strengths
and exemplars of practice
DEVELOP A COMMON LANGUAGE among staff
and students and relation to subject specific creative practices
Encourage ARTICULATION OF LEARNING
through creative practice
RESEARCH in learning, exploring student experience
and relations to aspirations and career pathways
Develop with staff a HOLISTIC APPROACH
to link learning to career
IMPROVE INFORMATION on career pathways
and opportunities and feed these back to courses
ENGAGE WITH INDUSTRY in the creative sector
and beyond in order to develop mutual understanding
BARRIERS /
Strategy fatigue and initiative overload for staff in an
already crowded curriculumprovides little time for reflection
and development
Lack of shared language and structural barriers that
inhibits students in making connections between
different elements of course and articulation of skills and successes
Approach is not holistic where creative development is
linked in relation to personal goals and ideas and the
segregation and separation from practice reduces PPD to check listing
Not indicated as valued, nor planned for in teaching
and assessment, which is directly related to student
satisfaction and results in an inconsistent student experience across institution
RECOMMENDATIONS /
Overcome strategy fatigue and initiative overload for staff in
an already crowded curriculum, by linking strategies
and working together
Link central initiatives with innovative curricula
development at course or college level
Be realistic and involve staff at course level as a
natural part of progressive cycle of course development
Improve coordination of enterprise and employability
support and create learning opportunities for staff
and students to take the creative process into difference contexts
and reflect on results
