in answer to the question how does bone dry clay recycle into raw clay like all recycling processes it requires time and energy!! Firstly soak the bone dry clay for at least a week (the longer the better) in water. Some chinese potters used to put clay to soak for their grandchildren!! Then lay the now wet clay out on a plaster board until most of the moisture has been absorbed. Then wedge or pug clay to de-air it, then it will be ready to use as raw clay.
