Routed M.D.F. cube

Powered machinery such as routers or spindle moulders are common equipment in the construction and furniture trades, but can often be found in Art School workshops, particularly where picture framing occurs.

Here the cubes four parallel edges display four common and useful types of profile; chamfer, panel, cove and ovolo.

The even consistency of Medium Density Fibreboard (M.D.F.) used here, allows for accurate machining and shape definition, but the dust produced can be hazardous and requires good ventilation.
