About Paint Club

Paint Club is a research network set up by staff and research students at UAL, and open to anyone with a commitment to Painting. Painting here is understood as an expanded and diverse contemporary practice emerging from the histories and traditions of Painting. Our activities publicly explore and debate what it means to 'research' as a painter, within the context of contemporary art practice. The outcomes of these conversations and this research are channeled into our own practice, but we expect that these discussions will also influence the teaching of painting within art schools. 

We are establishing a network of affiliations with other institutions where painting is studied, both in the UK and world-wide
