CLTAD Teaching Development Projects

This group contains a collection of outputs from Teaching Development Projects completed in partnership with CLTAD through courses, secondments and Fellowships.

The majority of these projects are the culmination of the 20-credit Teaching Development Project course; a core unit within UAL's PG Cert in Learning & Teaching. For this unit, colleagues are supported in the design and execution of an intervention to address an identified learning and teaching issue. Common topics for these projects include improving student engagement with feedback, making more effective use of tutor contact time, implementing peer assessment, and maximising the opportunities of group work. The course has been undertaken by colleagues from a wide range of Art disciplines both within and beyond UAL, from Fine Art and Journalism to Ballet.

The Teaching Development Project unit lasts for six months and runs up to three times a year. An understanding of current pedagogic theory helps participants to gain maximum benefit from the course, and for this reason prior completion of the Learning & Teaching in Art & Design unit is recommended. Please check out the CLTAD website or get in touch with the Professional Development contact at your college to find out more.
