What's fantastic with OBS is that not only is it totally free but it also allows you to arrange and crop your game capture along with the placing of your webcam capture where you like.

In this Episode of VR BUMP we explain how you can record Virtual reality game play from Steam VR or Oculus rift with OBS. 

What's fantastic with OBS is that not only is it totally free but it also allows you to arrange and crop your game capture along with the placing of your webcam capture where you like. 

This then allows you to make videos of VR footage that are enjoyable to watch back on you-tube or any other 16:9 device. 

Of course you don't have to use the settings in this video and I'd highly recommend you try increasing or decreasing bit rates or trying NVEC especially if you have a slower processor such as an i5. 

As for scaling the image you may want to have bars at the side of the screen to allow for a wider FOV view of the capture which is perfectly fine and can work well if you then place a webcam to the side of the video recording ! 

All said and done this video aims to introduce you to OBS and the basic process involved in getting up and running. It is by no means a full guide to the software !
