The Practice Exchange

The Practice Exchange is a year long series of seminars exploring practice-led art and design research across UAL and beyond. It was set up in 2010 by Marsha Bradfield, Ana Laura Lopez de la Torre and Scott Schwager. Now in its second year, it is facilitated by Chelsea art researchers Maria Kheirkhah, Elizabeth Manchester and Charlotte Webb. It seeks to:

(1) Provide a platform where practitioners can present their practice to their peers and receive feedback.

(2) To grow UAL’s research culture by developing a community of practice marked by criticality, diversity, commitment, risk tolerance and a DIY ethic.

(3) To cultivate dialogue across practices, disciplines and other divisions.

(4) To place art, culture and research in the public domain.

(5) To raise UAL’s research profile.
