Alternative apps, backing up, choosing distro - Introduction to GNU/Linux
22-01-2014, 14.00-17.00 Chelsea A215.The second event of this series has now been scheduled for the 22nd of January. We will be discussing alternative applications used in GNU/Linux in relation to MS Windows and MacOSX. We will also explain the steps for a successful backup and some criteria for choosing a suitable flavour for GNU/Linux.For this workshop it would be useful to create a list of the software and operating system participants use and post this list to e.warner@arts.ac.uk by the 15th of January. This will allow some extra time for us to look for alternatives of possibly less popular software participants require.
Looking forward to it!
