If you are interested in the Internet of Things or just what an introduction and find out more about connected devices - we have limited spaces for the Pop-Up maker Group for the below workshop.

Part of the 'Technology is the answer, but what was the question?' Curriculum development project, exploring emergent Technologies in Art & Design.

Please let me know asap if you'd like to attend, you must show up as spaces are limited, the session will be all day, presentations from IoT arts industry in the morn and hands on project work in the afternoon.

  • Cyril Shing (20min): informal learning, past student project, rationale for the day
  • Bernd Behr (20min): Rationale for the day, IoT issues
  • Chris Follows (20min): CCW Digital activities, Digital Pop-up Week of 16-20 May, Tate Exchange
  • Francesco Anselmo (Arup)(TBC)(30min) - Talk about arts use of IoT & Connected Environments
  • Francesca Perona (FabLab London)(30min)
  • ALT: SNIPS via Skype Artificial Intelligence & connected devices

Q&A with all speakers (30min)

12:30-14:00 Lunch (Not provided)

14:00 – 15:30 Physical Computing practical workshop

  • Led by Fab Lab Francesca
  • Students split into groups of around 5?
  • Kit: Arduino Yun or Particle + Sensors (Chris to discuss with FabLab/order)

15:30 – 17:00 Student Group Brainstorming

  • Students remain in same groups of 5 to brainstorm possible project ideas, produce posters (1hr)
  • Poster session / group presentations
  • Students choose which projects they want to pursue
