Snips Artificial Intelligence and the arts

We are looking forward to starting an art school debate & research into Artificial intelligence (AI) and the Arts in collaboration with Snips who  'Use Artificial Intelligence to Make Technology Disappear'.

I first encountered Snips through recording from a really interesting event and presentation by Snips Founder Rand Hindi about Artificial intelligence (AI the ability to create autonomy in artificial agents) what AI is (and isn’t) at Intelligence Unleashed: How smarter digital tools can improve learning. A collaboration between Pearson and the London Knowledge Lab to bring together AI experts and educators to find ways to leverage AI to solve problems in education. See documentation here.

And then attended a follow up AI in education event at the London Knowledge Lab titled . Pearson and the London Knowledge Lab present Intelligence Unleashed: Education and AI in the lab. See documentation here, we had some really interesting conversations about AI where we started to think about ideas for using AI in our disciplines.

AI in the Arts Group at UAL CCW

The Internet of Things Group will explore the impacts of the below technologies on art & design practice, we aim to build a UAL wide community of interest who participate in meet-ups to share of practice, collaborate with the sector & work together to develop exhibitions, workshops & events.

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) The ability to create autonomy in artificial agents
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Ubiquitous Computing: Pervasive digital
  • Gaming, Robotics & Drone tech

The group is part of CCW Digital and the CCW Pop Up Digital MakerSpace project an inter-disciplinary Student-Staff Collaboration.

The ‘Pop Up Digital MakerSpace project aims to explore, share and build on our knowledge and experience of emergent digital practice and its relationship to disciplines at CCW and beyond.
