Understanding good practice for improving Social visibility

This session is designed to raise student awareness of media formats, for basic image editing for the web, for example file sizes resizing, compassion, naming best practices and colour profile for the web. This then will lead onto embedding audio, images and videos to websites and blogs from video and audio streaming websites such as YouTube, Vimeo and Blip TV. It will give an overview of the relationship between HTML and CSS and Flash Websites in respect to accessibility.

The Professional Online Identities project see overview will identify and develop specific digital literacies/hard and soft skills (Presentation and Relational skills) in maintaining professional online identities with the aim of enhancing student/graduate employability and industry readiness. PARTICIPANTS: CSM staff, The Centre for Performance programme staff and students, the POI project team are all welcome to join the sessions.
BRIEF OVERVIEW:

This session is about understanding Social media in relationship to self promotion, with the use of commercial tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Wordpress and other web tools to create successful networks. Furthermore understanding the principles of blogging practices to create a network of followers.

DURATION: 2 Hours
NUMBERS: 8 staff and students in total (Minimum of 4 staff or 50% must attend for the course to run)
DATES: Wed 29 May 14:30 – 16:30
EQUIPMENT: Computer room facilities - Laptop, projector and screen for presenter, seats for participants

The programme will create and adapt existing training to meet the needs of this agile developed programme, (we want to offer bespoke/new training and contexts currently not available to staff and students). We will be adding a section to the developing programme that highlights what training is currently available at UAL and how they can make the most of what there is e.g existing Learn IT training, CLTAD training and Lynda etc.
