Wire sphere

Copper coated mild steel is often sold as "welding rod" and is a very veratile model making material.

Copper coated to prevent rust, this surface makes it ideal to solder (see video), while the thickness, in this case 2.4mm bends easily around formers, (see photos), while remaining true and stable.
