Iron wire ball

The material is black iron annealed wire, 16 standard wire gauge, soft, and satisfying to bend between finger and thumb.

Unlike other wires of similar gauge, this surface is non reflective and has some of the characteristics of a pencil line drawn by hand.

This is in fact one long line fashioned by hand, and required only one cut.
