This pilot programme will explore the challenges and benefits of delivering web making support training for final year students and staff on the Performance Design and Practice (PDP) course at Central Saint Martins.

Simon King:

For the past five years, Simon King has been lecturing at The University for the Creative Arts at both the Epsom and the Farnham campuses. He is currently a lecturer for the Advertising, Brand and Communication BA course and the Foundation Studies, graphic design pathway. As well as lecturing course units, King teaches Adobe CS6 software including; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Aftereffects, Flash and Dreamweaver, to an advanced level. More

PARTICIPANTS: The Centre for Performance programme students, the POI project team are all welcome to join the sessions.
BRIEF OVERVIEW:

You will learn hoe to build a basic web page, with images and links over 2 sessions

An intro to web development, HTML and coding basics CSS etc

Intro to server spaces and setting up web sites, ftp etc 

Pros and cons of servers spaces, demo of getting a server space (free and commercial) and

Adding web files via ftp online etc

Go and practice in time for the second session, look at more advanced web development techniques

DURATION: 1.5 or 2 hours

Students requirements: Bring you own Laptops PLEASE NOTE: please try and pre-installed Sublime Text 2 which is free to download.

Staff requirements: Computer room facilities - Laptop, projector and screen for presenter, seats for participants
