Industry Guests

We are really pleased to have iMakr joining us to help kick off #DigitalMakerWeek on Monday 16th May. iMakr is comprised of three arms – iMakr, MyMiniFactory and iMakr.VC. These aspects work in conjunction to facilitate the proliferation of 3D printing technology, both through investment within the industry, and by making the technology as accessible as possible to consumers. They strive to innovate, educated and inspire through 3D printing.

In April 2013, iMakr.VC launched the iMakr Store, the world's largest store dedicated to 3D printing, located in the heart of Central London (79 Clerkenwell Road, EC1R 5AR). The iMakr Store covers two floors and specialises in selling 3D printers, 3D scanners, filament and accessories. The space also offers 3D printing solutions and 3D printed objects by renowned designers as well as training, classes, workshops, demonstrations and event hosting. The second iMakr store opened in New York on June 19th 2014.

In parallel to the physical store, iMakr launched iMakr.com, an online store selling a wide range of 3D printers and materials, 3D art and 3D scanners – all handpicked by their team of skilled engineers.

MyMiniFactory.com, which launched in June 2013, is an online download platform for 3D printable files powered by iMakr. All of the 3D models available on the platform are curated by an internal team. Designs are submitted by members of the community as well as created by a team of in-house designers who specialise in designing for 3D printing. The categories cover everything from toys and figurines to gadgets and fashion accessories. Design-on-demand and Print-on-demand services are also offered.

Scan the World.  – as the title implies - is an ambitious new initiative iMakr and MyMiniFactory have recently embarked upon.  Using 3D scanning and 3D printing technology, they plan to create a massive archive of the world’s landmarks, sculptures and artworks, all completely realised in 3D and ready to 3D print.

FabLab London

We are really looking forward to welcoming back FabLab London who we have been working with closely over the last few months and who took part in last years Chelsea Jam event. Nick Dimaggio of Fab Lab will be sharing expertise of 3D printing & Scanning as well as introducing their new Ultimaker 3d printing bronze course.
